There is a whole generation emerging into the workplace that thinks a book is an electronic idea, a virtual object that doesn’t have an actual physical form, aside from their mum’s Kindle. Certainly, they think these paper things don’t exist outside school, those last bastions of the traditional waste of paper.

But they are wrong. Books do still exist, and can particularly be found in offices, largely because offices are full of devices that need manuals so we can see how to use them, and the most convenient form for a manual is a paperback book. Whip it down off the shelf, flick through to the page you need, find out what you want to know and put it back or, if you might need to refer to it again, plonk it down next to the photocopier you’ve got a problem with, and you’re all set for some troubleshooting. Yes, the humble bookshelf still has its uses because the book does.

If you are looking for a bookshelf for sale, never fear, because they are not as rare as you may think. For a bookcase in Auckland, look no further than us at Hurdleys. It’s not so much that a retailer imposes ideas on the public, more that we reflect public tastes and public needs, and many of our customers want a bookcase to keep manuals and textbooks in. There might be a professional code of conduct in there too, or some other fascinating tome devoted to whatever field of endeavour the company is engaged in.

What Does a Bookcase Look Like Now?

That is a fair question, considering that the whole concept has quietly slipped to the back of the office manager’s mind while computer desks and standing desks and other more modern items have come to the fore. But bookcases have always been with us and probably always will be.

We have dedicated bookcases, freestanding and convenient to slip into a vacant spot by the wall, and we have storage cupboards with some shelves inside, which can help keep the dust off. Bookshelves in Auckland are quite stylish affairs (ours are, anyway) that lend a certain elegance to an otherwise purely functional office space. We’ve got an elegant wood-effect five-shelf one, the Oki, which wouldn’t look out of place at home either, and the very attractive white Rapid cabinet storage unit, or the shorter, compact Mascot storge leaner and bookshelf. Nice pieces of furniture, all of them, and whether you keep trade manuals in them or your own treasured copy of War and Peace, they add style as well as functionality to any office. Ours are well-made and neatly finished.

What Kind of Bookshelves Do You Need?

If you have any questions at all about bookcases or book shelves, just give us a call or fill in the online enquiry form and we will get back to you. We can tell you all you need to know and discuss important matters such as delivery. We know discussion is a rare thing in this take-it-or-leave-it world, but customer service is important to us, just as it is to you. We haven’t forgotten bookshelves and you bet we have book cases for sale in Auckland.
